No less an authority figure than Karl Rove has warned Republican operatives from demagoguing Barack Obama's middle name.

At a closed door meeting of GOP state executive directors in late January, Rove said the safest way to refer to Obama would be to use his honorific, "Sen. Obama."

Dodd nod for Obama adds connected party leader

Sen. Chris Dodd (D-Conn.) today became the first former Democratic presidential candidate who shared the debate stage over the past year to endorse a rival, urging Democrats to unify behind Barack Obama’s candidacy and warning against harsh attacks that could damage the party’s nominee in the fall election.

“It is now the time to come together as a Democratic party,” Dodd said at a morning press conference, adding a few moments later, “I don’t want a campaign that is only divisive here. And there is a danger of it becoming that.”

General: Obama’s story is believable

Gen. George Casey, the Army's chief of staff, said Tuesday he has no reason to doubt Barack Obama's recent account by an Army captain that a rifle platoon in Afghanistan didn't have enough soldiers or weapons.

But he questioned the assertion that the shortages prevented the troops from doing their job.

Obama’s Real Experience: His Campaign

The best evidence of Obama’s readiness to lead the nation is displayed through his ability to run for president. After all, what is more difficult, complicated, or challenging than getting elected president? What other life experience better illustrates one’s qualification to hold the office than a manifest skill in seeking it?

For anyone who has ever been elected president, the race that sent them to the White House was the single most important event in their lives and dwarfs any other experience they might have had before running.

Obama livid at Clinton ‘racial’ slur

The Obama campaign has accused the Clinton camp of "the most shameful, offensive fear-mongering" after the news website, Drudge Report, published a photo of Barack Obama in full Somali traditional dress, which it said had been sent by a Clinton aide.

The photo, taken in 2006, shows the Democrat frontrunner dressed as a Somali elder, during his visit to Wajir, a rural area in north-eastern Kenya, the Drudge Report said.
